What is the National Fund Approach?
The National Fund is a collaboration between the nation’s top foundations and a nationwide network of companies, workforce intermediaries, government agencies, and foundations.
The national investors provide seed money to regional sites to build a localized approach. To date, they have committed $23 million.
In each of the regions where the National Fund is working, regional collaboratives bring together government agencies, foundations, and other philanthropic orgnaizations to target financial resources and strategic thking on creating jobs and careers. The regional collaboratives have, together, committed an additional $100 million to the effort.
The regional collaboratives fund workforce partnerships, which create long-term relationships between employers and service providers. They offer job training and career supports that meet the needs of both employees and employers in industry sectors that are critical to local economies.
